The vest is knit seamlessly, working the back and fronts in one large flat piece. The right shoulder is grafted together with a three-needle bind off, and shaping for the left shoulder is done with short rows, after which the knitting flows seamlessly down to begin the cabled edging on the left side. The edging follows the line of the vest down the left side, across the bottom edge, and back up the right side. The rounded corners on the vest are handled by interrupting the edging pattern with intervals of short-row cables to sharpen the angle of the turn. Pattern includes diagrams to illustrate the construction of the vest.
